The rationality of the organization is its reason for being . There are different types of rationality that coexist within the same organization but one will be dominant. This is because each subsystem of the organization may have, in turn, its own rationality. It is noteworthy that these rationales do not exist in pure form, ie not going to find an organization where there is only one type of rationality.
types of rationality proposed by Schvarstein are
- Policy: marked by the desire for recognition and power struggle. This can be evidenced in such unions.
- Ideological : characterized by the particular design with the world and the place each occupies in this and in the organization. An example of this may be the churches.
- Affective : based on the libidinal structure of groups. For example, family businesses.
- Technical : favors technological modes as determinants of production relations.
- Economic : favors what sustains the material conditions of existence of the organization.
- Structural : highlights the organizational principles that are seen as necessary to achieve more effective action. An example of ESOT, may be the area of \u200b\u200bhuman resources within an organization.
