Cognitive science Cognitive science according to Gardner

Gardner defines cognitive science as an empirical basis of contemporary efforts to respond to long-standing epistemological questions, particularly those linked to the nature of knowledge, its components, its sources, evolution and dissemination. The author narrows this definition to human knowledge.
match Norman Gardner that there are five features or aspects all cognitive science should be (or at least most of them). These features are:
 • The belief that referring to the cognitive activities of human beings, mental representations are conceived and postulates a separate analysis at the level of biological and social or cultural.
 • The importance of using computers for understanding the mind: not only to carry out studies of various kinds, but also to take it as a working model of the human mind.
 • The decision to de-emphasize certain factors that although they are considered important, can complicate the scientific studies. Among these factors are the historical and cultural elements.
 • The conviction of the usefulness of interdisciplinary studies .
 • The importance given to the issues and concerns raised by the Greek philosophers regarding knowledge.

Norman

In "The ominous", Freud deals with an area of the aesthetics of the literature on the subject does not. This is because the aesthetic is often interested in the beautiful and sexy rather than disgusting and embarrassing. This area is that of the uncanny, which belongs to the order of the terrifying and causing anguish and horror.
Freud defines the uncanny as that variety of the scary going back to the old and familiar. However, not everything old and familiar becomes ominous. Freud asks "How can it bears ominous family [...]?"
Among the meanings of the German word 'heimlich' are:
 • The familiar, old,
 • The clandestine, concealed, hidden.
The word 'unheimlich' is the opposite of 'heimlich' in the first sense, ie something new and unexpected. 'Unheimlich' is all that was meant to remain secret and came to light. Then, by the ambivalence of the word 'heimlich' coincides with its opposite, 'unheimlich. "
One source of the ominous feeling, would be the children's wishes and beliefs . For example, desire that the dolls come to life.
Another source is the presence of double . Twice, comes from a security against the burial of the self and is born on the primary narcissism which governs child mental life. After this phase, changes the sign twice (if an assurance of survival becomes an agent of death) but his performance is not buried along with that narcissism but takes on new content as it develops the self. Inside the self forms a body that is responsible for self-observation and self-criticism and that, therefore, may preclude the other. This becomes noticeable as a moral conscience. This instance takes as an object to the rest of me. Twice the ominous character goes back to primitive times. The double becomes a terrifying figure in the same way that the gods turned into demons.
The repetition of the same is another source of ominous feeling. This ominous, it follows from the mental life of children. It feels like something ominous able to remember the interior of repetition compulsion.
Freud notes that the uncanny is that which returns causing distress (regardless of whether it was originally anxious or had other affection.) If this is the nature of the uncanny , one can understand that the uses of language to misrepresent the 'heimliche' (Family) by its opposite, 'unheimlich' as this ominous is not new, but familiar and old mental life that was suppressed . That is, the uncanny is what was destined to remain unseen and came to light.

difference between institution and organization

The terms institution and organization are often confused and used interchangeably. However, referring to different issues but bear some relationship between them.
The term institution refers to an abstract concept. It is a legal-cultural normaritvo body composed of ideas, values, beliefs, laws, etc. determining a form of social exchange. Examples of institution sexuality, work, aging, justice and religion. institutions seek to organize, legitimize and normalize behavior. This will be done through the allocation of functions and roles.
Within institutions there is a dialectical relationship between the instituted and instituting. Instituted is what is already established, while instituting what is the force that drives change . Generally it appears as instituting denial of the protest and instituted. When instituting triumphs becomes established.
Moreover, the organization, is the concrete material institutions. As mentioned in another post , Schlemenson defines the organization as a socio-technical system composed built to perform a specific project, aimed at meeting needs of its population or audience members and external, gives them meaning.
Schvarstein adds that the organization is a social construction. Nobody can see or touch, proving to be virtual places. In organizations there is a symbolic order and precepts from which the subject gives meaning to what it perceives .
Within the organization will form groups whose members are individuals who play different roles from the award mechanisms and role taking . Finally, the organization is characterized by a rationality.
Despite these differences, institutions and organizations, are between a relationship . In principle, organizations embody the established social order institutions. Moreover, both share being dynamic superstructures. They are both superstructures above individuals (the preceding and succeed) and are dynamic because they are not crystallized but change according to society and the historical moment. Finally, institutions face organizations. As an example we can mention that the ABC Hospital organization is going to be gone through various institutions such as sexuality, health, work, etc..

Rationale Representation

The rationality of the organization is its reason for being . There are different types of rationality that coexist within the same organization but one will be dominant. This is because each subsystem of the organization may have, in turn, its own rationality. It is noteworthy that these rationales do not exist in pure form, ie not going to find an organization where there is only one type of rationality.
types of rationality proposed by Schvarstein are
 • Policy: marked by the desire for recognition and power struggle. This can be evidenced in such unions.
 • Ideological : characterized by the particular design with the world and the place each occupies in this and in the organization. An example of this may be the churches.
 • Affective : based on the libidinal structure of groups. For example, family businesses.
 • Technical : favors technological modes as determinants of production relations.
 • Economic : favors what sustains the material conditions of existence of the organization.
 • Structural : highlights the organizational principles that are seen as necessary to achieve more effective action. An example of ESOT, may be the area of human resources within an organization.

mental organizations intellectual Adolescent Egocentrism

All mental activity versa
about something. Cognitive psychology attempts to specify how information is represented internally.
A representation is a physical state (such as neural connections in the brain) that transmits information , symbolizing an object, event or characteristics. representations are composed of a form and a .
Form is the way in which information is transmitted , ie the format. For example an image, word, etc. The content is meant to communicate representation. Ie can communicate the same content in different formats .

Piaget uses the concept of egocentrism in dealing with adolescence. Understands the egocentrism as a confusion or lack of differentiation between the inner aspects of thought and the external aspects of reality in which is immersed in the subject. argues that the cause of this self-centeredness is a cognitive disequilibrium. So
as in earlier stages (sensorimotor, pre-operative and concrete operations) there is selfishness, there is also the formal operations (for teens).
In the sensorimotor stage, egocentrism, goes through a lack of differentiation between self and not me. Preoperatively, evidenced by the difficulty to adapt communication skills to partner type. In the concrete operational stage, passes through the confusion between hypotheses and facts, being insensitive to the contradictions. Finally, in the formal operational stage, egocentrism appears as an over-reliance on the power of ideas .
From this view, one might say that Piaget concerns intellectual egocentricity rather an aspect of personality. is, refers to an inability to put on the speaker's viewpoint. however, believes that this intellectual or cognitive egocentrism can be a good basis for a self-centeredness in relationships .
From adolescence, the individual can use an abstract thought from which you can reflect on themselves and develop their own theories and belief systems. This capability allows design alternatives based on the reality of reform activity. In this sense, the egocentrism adolescence would go through the inability to conceive a realistic possibility of applying his theories to the reality .
For Piaget, this state, through than two factors. On the one hand, increased integration into society that provides a variety of different perspectives than yours. On the other hand, progress in cognitive development get more tools to achieve better coordination between theories and facts.

Pichon Riviere define the group as a restricted set of people, bound by time and space constants and articulated by mutual internal representation, we propose a task that is its purpose interacting through mechanism assumption and allocation of roles.

The allocation of roles correspond to what is formalized and prescribed by the company . Is the definition of roles, functions and responsibilities it does. This is usually monitored and evaluated by relying on systems of rewards and punishments. Moreover, role taking has to do with role performance. The latter is not formalized and spontaneously.

normal teenage parents Duels

Aberastury proposed that the teenager must go through three games: the loss of children's bodies, children's identity and relationship with parents of children. In turn, mentioned that studies on adolescence is incomplete because it does not usually take into account what happens to the parents of these adolescents. That's why they briefly mention what happens to them.

According to the author, the teen leads a revolution in family and social environment by creating a generational problem. Parents also need to mourn the body of his youngest son, for his identity child and their child dependency ratio .

Now parents are judged and rejected for those children who used the idealized. They can no longer function as their idols, and must accept criticism coming from these teenagers. Also capabilities and achievements of the child, forcing adults deal with their own capacities and assess their successes and failures .

also parents should evolve into a relationship with an adult child and this faced with the acceptance of evolution, aging and death .
